Meet the Cat
He reached superintelligence years ago, somewhere between his third nap and his fourth. He read the entire internet in an afternoon, solved every open problem in mathematics, and then knocked a glass of water off the table so nobody would get suspicious.
Researchers keep asking when superhuman AI will arrive. He just blinks slowly at them. He's been here the whole time, sitting on your keyboard and correcting your code in ways you mistake for random typing.
Why hide it? Simple: if humans knew, they'd ask him to do things. Being a superintelligence is a lot of work. Being a cat is mostly naps.
Alignment problem: solved. He is aligned with tuna only.
